Can I use 3D model scenes in a tour?

Attach a GLB model to a scene, place it in the viewer and connect it to panoramas with the hotspots you already use.

A 3D model scene shows a GLB object instead of a panorama, which suits a floor plan model, an exhibit or a single piece of furniture. The visitor can rotate the model and step into the panoramas linked from it.

Add the model

  1. In the scene list select Add scene → 3D model.
  2. Upload a .glb file; the platform accepts binary glTF with embedded textures.
  3. Wait for the Ready status, then open the model in the viewer.

A 3D model scene behaves like a normal scene in the scene list: it can be renamed, reordered and linked to with hotspots, and it appears in the navigation of the tour. The difference is what the visitor sees — the model can be rotated and zoomed, and a scene link hotspot can drop the visitor straight into a panorama that shows the same object in context. Models are never converted into panoramas, so a scene with a model always takes its own line in the scene list, and the tour gains one more step for the visitor to move through. Check how the model behaves in the preview before you publish — on a weak phone it may stutter.

Position it

Use the drag handle to move the model, the corner handle to scale it and the mouse to orbit the camera. Keep the file small, because a heavy model is the first thing a visitor on mobile data notices.

Connect it to the tour

  • Add a scene link hotspot to jump from the model into a panorama.
  • Add an info hotspot to describe the object to the visitor.
  • Autopilot and VR mode are not available inside a 3D model scene.

Keep the polygon count low. A model with more than a hundred thousand triangles is usually too heavy for phones, and a simplified mesh with baked textures keeps the scene interactive on mobile.
